Dr. Reena Patel
Education and Training
A Virginia native, Dr. Patel began her education at Richlands High School in Richlands, VA where she graduated valedictorian of her class. She continued her journey at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. There she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Cognitive Science and graduated with honors. Dr. Patel moved to nearby Richmond, Virginia where she attended the Medical College of Virginia/VCU School of Dentistry. She graduated cum laude and earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree. Wishing to gain a greater knowledge of dentistry and to excel at treating a wider population, Dr. Patel pursued a 2-year General Practice Residency at Wake Forest University in Winston Salem, NC. Here she met Dr. Chichetti and together they spent 2 years treating the general population, pediatrics, head and neck cancer patients, medically compromised patients, special needs individuals, and working in the operating room and emergency room environments. Dental service and mission became an integral part of their practices.
Upon completing her training, Dr. Patel joined a group practice in Winston Salem, NC. For 11 years she enjoyed an extensive general practice including surgery, restorative dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatrics. She maintained memberships with the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, and advanced her dental knowledge at the Forsyth County Dental Society and through Spear Study Clubs and Continuing Education. Donating her time and expertise to Missions of Mercy and Christina’s Smiles have furthered her goal to provide dental service to the community.
Dr. Patel and her husband Chirag, an IT executive, have been happily married since 2005.
They are proud parents to 2 beautiful girls Megha and Mila. Charlotte, NC brings them closer to family and they are so happy to be here! In her spare time, Dr. Patel loves to travel, exercise, spend time with her girls, cook, and watch movies.
